Staffordshire Cheese Company and Leek Brewery Website

We have just been informed that we have wone a medal at the British Cheese Awards, for 'The Staffordshire', our cloth bound cheese. We will not know which award until late September though!We have also installed a new maturing room, and purchased a second hand stilton piercing machine. This will help in our production of our Staffordshire Blue.

We are currently planning to install some new brewing equipment. This will allow us to increase our capacity from 5.5 barrels (880 litres) to 10 barrels (1600 litres) per brew.

After several test batches our new Blue cheese is almost ready. We will actually be making two blue cheeses, our own Staffordshire Blue, made from Staffordshire cow's milk, which is based on our Staffordshire Cheese recepie.

We are also making a blue cheese using cow's milk from Derbyshire. This will be called Derbyshire Blue, and is very similar to a cheese made a little while ago at Hartington in Derbyshire. (famous for it's stilton). This will be marketed mainly by the 'Derbyshire Cheese Company', based in Bakewell.

They are both very distinctive cheeses and you should see them around shortly - or look out for our stall at farmers markets.
